Youth Volunteering
The Volunteer Center of McHenry County helps young people find volunteer opportunities in their communities to fulfill their school's community service requirements. Volunteering also offers young people the opportunity to discover and develop skills, to apply their academic knowledge and receive recognition for their efforts. Youth volunteers are carefully placed in opportunities that will foster a sense of purpose, social responsibility and leadership qualities.
Youth that are under the age of 14 are also encouraged to volunteer. Depending on the individual and circumstance he or she may volunteer alone or with someone over 16.
