from phone calling and database work, to planning service days for
corporations and groups and overseeing special events.

Do you like phone calling? We
need volunteers that will call organizations about posting volunteer
needs; to schedule appointments with volunteers and organizations; and
pass on referrals to organizations.
Write Press Releases
for the Center to promote volunteerism in McHenry County.
Do you like to plan
special events? Throughout the year the Volunteer Center
hosts events that promote volunteerism. We are looking for volunteers to
help manage one or more events or help with some of the event tasks.
Tasks could include: welcoming/greeting, manning the expo table,
chairing a group of volunteers; taking pictures and much more)
Marketing help is needed with
setting up focus groups; creating surveys; creating and or updating
brochures and fact sheets
Public Speaking - help us get
the word out about the Volunteer Center. Speak to civic groups churches
and corporations in McHenry County
Web Development - an
understanding of Front Page or Web expressions in required to help in
this area.
Fundraising - If you like the
challenge of finding support consider using it to promote volunteerism.
Help us with our donor program
Grant Writing help is need -
we will train
Develop tool kits
that help promote volunteerism - tool kits are needed for Season
of Service Days, corporate or group volunteerism, how to recruit and
retain volunteers and more
Tech assistance
for volunteers and organizations. Sometimes people have a hard
time navigating through our website. This is some that that can be done
from home.
Resource person - take over
our resource library (online). Find resources to help our member
organizations and volunteers have better experiences.
Plan days of service for
groups
Take
photographs for special projects
Interview and place volunteers
with organizations in McHenry County
Design work - develop logos
for different projects that happen throughout the year. Play with our
volunteer pictures to tell a story of volunteerism
Grow our Web Sponsorship Program
by making calls and faxing out invitations to sponsor the website
