United Way McHenry County Volunteer Center, a vehicle providing resources to help your company heighten its social responsibility. 

We are here to help you with:

• Establishing an employee volunteer program: Developing a strong foundation for your employee volunteer program is critical to its success. We can help you build a structure to guide your program in its growth. We have resources and will help with: developing goals and strategies; timelines; a communication plan; program budget; and evaluation. 
• Manage all or part of your volunteer program: Employee volunteer programs can be structure in many ways. The volunteer center can help you establish a program personalized for your situation and budget. Possible structures include: an employee committee manages the program; one employee coordinates the program; or you may want to outsource all or pieces of the program. 
• Develop a retired volunteer program: The volunteer center is ready to assist you in creating a retired volunteer program. This program fosters individuals within the corporation and creates excellent ambassadors for the company in the community. 
• Arrange a day of service for your employees: Service days provide the company with an opportunity to grow leaders, build team, and help employees build relationships all while impacting the community. We can manage all or part, matching your company to non-profit projects in McHenry County.
• Host a volunteer fair: Expand your employees community involvement by bringing representatives of McHenry County non-profits to your place of business. Who better can express the volunteer needs of an organization, let us connect your employees directly to agencies in need. 
• Research and identify non-profits to serve: Finding service projects and organizations for corporate involvement can be time consuming. We will do the research and find opportunities and agencies that match your goals, skills and interests.
• Place employees within non-profit boards: Board Placement is a collaborative effort of United Way McHenry County Volunteer Center and McHenry County College's Center for Non-profit Leadership.  We will place your employees on the boards of McHenry County nonprofit organizations.
• Match volunteer needs with interested employees The volunteer center is host to over 120 member non-profit and community organizations. We are in constant communication with members to better understand their needs. We specialize in helping individuals and groups find the right place to volunteer.  Our website, www,volunteermchenrycounty.org includes searchable database of active volunteer needs and donation wish lists. 
• Arrange workshops on volunteerism Workshops and seminars can be tailored to meet your corporate needs. Topics can include: developing workplace volunteer programs, building partnerships with non-profits, managing employee volunteer programs, and measuring outcomes and goals
• Receive electronic volunteer opportunities Your company can receive a customized listing of volunteer needs as often as you like.
• Network with other corporate employee volunteer programs The volunteer center can connect you with other businesses who have active employee volunteer programs. This networking can provide an efficient way to create best practices, increase visibility for your business, and share information about community and non-profit agency needs.
• Provide volunteer related consultation services We will examine your needs and explore ways to strengthen the effectiveness of your workplace volunteer programs.
