Help needed to prepare and run a community event fundraiser. This is a walkathon at Veteran Acres Park in Crystal Lake. Volunteers needed for: installation of meditation mini-walk; set up of equipment; marking the walk course with signage; registration; refreshment booths; monitors for walk course; games; take down of equipment and signage; and clean up.
When does the
volunteer need take place?
Saturday, October 2, 2010, is the date of the Walk. Installation of mini-walk course will take place the day before, on Friday, October 1, 2010. The day of the walk, set up and marking of course begins at 7:00 a.m. Registration, refreshment stations, and games begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue through the morning until noon. Monitors for the walk course needed from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Take down of equipment and signage and clean-up begins at noon.

Woodstock Early Learning Center Children’s Toy & Equipment Resale will be held on Saturday November 13th from 10am-2pm. Volunteers are needed to setup (Friday), work the event and cleanup (Saturday). The sale includes hundreds of gently-used children’s toys and equipment such as games, stuffed animals, video tapes, cassettes, software, cribs, toddler beds, strollers, breast pumps, infant accessories, dress-up clothing/accessories, halloween costumes, sporting equipment and much more. The sale will be held at the Woodstock Early Learning Center, 350 Christian Way in Woodstock. Proceeds from the sale will support programming at the Woodstock Early Learning Center, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
