An interview is conducted on an interested volunteer in order to get to know their interests, hobbies and preferences on location and gender. Then, a search is made to match up the volunteer to a senior who is lonely, socially isolated and wants positive social interaction. Volunteers need to be communicative, patient, senior-friendly and willing dedicate at least one hour a week visiting their assigned senior. This program helps pave the way for genuine friendships to grow.
