19291   National Alliance for Mental Illness McHenry County NAMI Walk for Mental Health Awareness  Location: Crystal Lake   60012 Description: Help needed to prepare and run a community event fundraiser. This is a walkathon at Veteran Acres Park in Crystal Lake. Volunteers needed for: installation of meditation mini-walk; set up of equipment; marking the walk course with signage; registration; refreshment booths; monitors for walk course; games; take down of equipment and signage; and clean up.   When does the volunteer need take place?  Saturday, October 2, 2010, is the date of the Walk. Installation of mini-walk course will take place the day before, on Friday, October 1, 2010. The day of the walk, set up and marking of course begins at 7:00 a.m. Registration, refreshment stations, and games begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue through the morning until noon. Monitors for the walk course needed from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
